About

On this site, I want to share my thoughts on Technology, Business, and Leadership. Already early on, I started to interest myself about the major questions of our society and civilization in our times. I started to read about them, to take notes, and sometimes to write short essays. And I made this interest also my key decision criteria when making my educational and career choices.

After training myself as an Engineer in Mechatronics at a technical college, I started to study Economics, Political Sciences and International Law, where I focused on topics of International Economics and Geopolitics and finished with a master thesis titled “Economics among Nations” on the foundations and prospects of an open and integrated world economy in a global system of competing nation states.

In my political work for youth organizations, I campaigned for the deepening of European Integration and later for urban development in Vienna.

In my business roles, I focus on promoting internet and cloud technologies that will fundamentally change the way we work and communicate, how our economies function, and how we lead our lives. And in that context and within my scope of responsibilities, it’s only natural to learn about how to lead and develop teams or to organize business units and position them and their value propositions on the market.

Recently, I’ve started again to study topics of international economics and geopolitics. And more than ever I arrived at the conclusion that with climate change, worldwide health crises, the danger of major conflicts among the global powers, looming trade and technology wars, the need to defend and promote democracy, to combat totalitarianism, political violence and suppression, we face monumental challenges no less threatening than the ones earlier generations and centuries faced. And yet, never before has the world and humanity achieved a level of economic, technological, and institutional political development that hands to our century the real opportunity to turn our planet into a really prosperous one, to realize a planet, where approximately 10 billion people can live a self-determined life in peace, freedom, dignity and welfare. And this is the task our civilization faces in the 21st century.
